紐西蘭北島以火山、地熱噴泉著名；南島以峽灣、冰河著名。5億年前的岡瓦那大陸，在8千萬年前分離而獨立出的陸塊，此後陸塊下沉，再經地殼擠壓作用，將陸塊抬起，除了隆起高山外，也造成火山噴發

歷經長途班機，身體帶點疲憊，抵達奧克蘭後搭乘機場巴士 (skybus)，約70分鐘抵達市區Wellesley street，再步行入住維多利亞公園 (Swiss-Belsuites)，到附近超市 (New World) 採買食材，嚐試紐西蘭好味，像是牛肉、羊肉、海鮮、葡萄酒、啤酒、奇異果、牛奶、優格
奥克蘭維多利亞公園瑞雅酒店公寓
- 交通：在奧克蘭市中心比較安靜的地區，離天空塔步行10分鐘
- 優點：現代化，設備完善，多面採光，客廳寬敞
- 缺點：退房時間是10:00am、沒有拖鞋、其他評論表示不夠乾淨、有果蠅
